Second semester junior year, and I’m not so sure how I feel about that…
Back to the craziness…of early morning classes, and group projects with groups I don’t really care for, and reading things I don’t really care about, and meetings that last far too long, and papers that just don’t want to be written, and babysitting the most adorable children ever, and going to the gym for all the right reasons, and benchsitting (yes, I enjoy sitting on benches and peoplewatching…), and late nights (which to me means later than 11:30-oh wait it’s 11:45 right now…), and the most fabulous friends ever, and professors that I love, and professors that I don’t so much love, and…a blog?
“In order to teach reading and writing, you must read and write yourself.” -says my professor. I guess it makes sense. But really, a blog? I mean-I kept a diary in second grade. It consisted of “My mom was really mean to me today. We could only play outside for 20 minutes instead of a half hour.” Life was rough, right? And in high school, my friends and I had a “notebook” where we would totally gossip about everyone, and hope that they would never read it. (I think I’ve grown up a bit since then, now everyone has elaborate nicknames so that they’ll never know I’m talking about them…) But really, a blog? I guess I’ll try. It’ll be something new, right? I mean, I’m going to be pushing my students to try new things everyday, so I think that I should have to try new things as well. A little, Zone of Proximal Development, maybe? I guess Vygotsky knew what he was talking about. Maybe I can do this. Maybe this is in my “zone.” I hope it is, anyway.
You’ll get stories about my life. The classes, the group projects, the reading, the meetings, the benchsitting (I feel those will be the best!), the late nights, the friends, and all the professors. And I hope you enjoy them, because I enjoy my life-even if I don’t enjoy writing about it
